Nice green podcast guys!
You made some fine points, but I did need to clarify.
Yes, green technology is expensive. Mainly because you are trying to cheat the laws of thermodynamics and increase efficiency. This comes at a price. There are tangible savings despite the relatively large investment, but you have to be patient.
Secondly, you can't just shut down manufacturing facilities and throw hundreds of people out of work. The real issue here is that as factories age, components have to be replaced, so if any government had any balls to put realistic air quality standards in place, then slowly, factories could have evolved to meet them. But to say "Change by tomorrow or die" is just stupid.
Every journey begins with a single step, but it seems our government is stuck in the parking lot.
